Storm damage program

We file the claim. You keep the roof.

A licensed public adjuster handles your insurance claim end-to-end, filing, on-site negotiation with your insurer, and supplements until you're paid what you're owed. You don't speak to your insurance company once.

Why this matters

Filing alone leaves real money on the table.

The insurance adjuster who comes out works for the insurance company. Without an advocate of your own on the roof, damage gets underreported, scopes get cut, and homeowners walk away with payouts that don't actually cover the work.

Outlaws Roofing works with a licensed public adjuster who is on your side, not theirs. We file the claim, meet your insurer on-site, and supplement aggressively until the scope and payout match the real damage.

The claim process, step by step.

From the moment you suspect storm damage to the day your new roof is signed off, here's exactly what happens, and what we handle for you.
1

Spot the damage.

After a storm, watch for missing shingles, dented vents or gutters, water stains on interior ceilings, or granules washing into the gutters. Hail and wind can cause hidden damage that worsens for months before it leaks.

Don't climb the roof. A free inspection from us takes about 45 minutes and protects you from liability and missed damage.
2

Call us for a free inspection.

A project manager comes to your property within 24 hours, photographs every slope and penetration, checks the underlayment from the attic, and writes you a documented damage report. No cost, no pressure.

Get inspected before calling your insurer. Our written report gives the claim leverage from day one.
3

We file the claim for you.

Once damage is confirmed, our public adjuster files the claim with your insurance company on your behalf. No phone calls, no paperwork, no figuring out what to say, the entire filing is handled.

Why this matters: Homeowners who speak to insurance directly often use wrong terminology, downplay damage, or volunteer details that get the claim reduced or denied. Let our adjuster handle every conversation.
4

Your insurer's adjuster visits, ours is right there too.

The insurance company sends their adjuster to inspect. Our public adjuster meets them on the roof, walks every slope alongside them, and makes sure every bit of damage is documented and quantified. This is where most claims are won or lost.

Their adjuster works for them. Ours works for you. That's the difference between a $4,000 lowball and a $22,000 full replacement.
5

Claim approved, scope agreed.

Insurance returns a written estimate. Our public adjuster reviews it line by line, files supplements for anything missing or undervalued, and negotiates directly with your insurer until the scope and payout are correct.

Insurance almost always underpays the first estimate. Supplements are normal. Our adjuster knows exactly what to push back on.
6

Roof installed, typically in 1 to 2 days.

Once the claim is approved and scope is finalized, our crew gets to work. Materials direct from manufacturer, daily progress photos to your portal, and most residential roofs finish inside two business days.

Quality materials only. Every job is backed by a 12-year workmanship warranty stacked on top of full manufacturer coverage.
7

Final inspection, payment, peace of mind.

We walk the roof and the perimeter with you, run the magnetic nail sweep, and hand over your warranty package. Insurance sends final payment direct (less your deductible). You're done.

Your only cost: the deductible. Insurance covers the rest of the approved scope.

Five common mistakes that kill claims.

Most denied claims weren't unlucky, they were avoidable. Here's what we see most often, and what to do instead.
Mistake 01

Waiting too long to file.

Most policies have a strict time limit on weather-event claims. Wait six months and your perfectly valid claim becomes a denied one.

Instead: file within days of the storm. We can be on your roof within 24 hours.
Mistake 02

No advocate during the adjuster's visit.

If no one's on the roof representing you, damage gets underreported and your payout shrinks accordingly.

Instead: have our public adjuster on-site every time the insurer's adjuster comes out.
Mistake 03

Accepting the first estimate.

Insurance almost always lowballs the initial number. Most homeowners don't know they can, and should, push back.

Instead: let our adjuster review and supplement until the scope is correct.
Mistake 04

Hiring an unlicensed contractor.

Cheap, unlicensed work fails fast and can void your insurance coverage on the next claim.

Instead: work with a licensed, insured roofer. Always ask for proof.
Mistake 05

Patching damage before documenting it.

If you tarp, caulk, or patch before getting photos and a written report, the insurer can argue the damage wasn't as severe as you claimed, and your payout drops.

Instead: photograph everything from the ground first, then make only emergency tarp-outs to prevent further water damage. We'll come document the rest within 24 hours.
Insurance FAQ

Answers to the questions Arizona homeowners ask most.

If yours isn't here, call or text us at (602) 555-1234, we answer 7 days a week.

Storm damage claims rarely cause rate increases because the loss is weather-driven, not negligence. That said, every policy is different, check with your agent if you're unsure. Most homeowners we work with see no premium change after filing.
Your deductible is what you pay out of pocket before insurance kicks in. For Arizona roofing claims it's typically 1 to 2% of your home's insured value, or a flat $1,000 to $2,500. You pay it to us when the work is complete, insurance covers the rest of the approved scope.
A denial is rarely the final answer. We'll review the denial reasoning, gather additional documentation, and assist with the appeal. Many initially denied claims get approved on resubmission once the supporting evidence is strengthened.
If your policy is Replacement Cost Value (RCV), insurance covers the full cost to replace your roof with similar materials minus your deductible. Actual Cash Value (ACV) policies factor depreciation in, which lowers the payout. We'll tell you which one you have during the inspection.
Common signs: missing or cracked shingles, dents on metal vents and gutters, granule loss in the gutters, water stains on interior ceilings, or cracked caulking around flashings. The safest way to know for sure is a free inspection, we'll give you an honest read.
A supplement is an additional request to your insurer for damage or work missing from the original estimate. They're routine, not a fight. Our adjuster files them on your behalf to make sure your final payout matches the actual scope.
Most Arizona policies allow 1 to 2 years to file after storm damage, but the sooner the better. Filing within days of the event makes the claim measurably stronger. Our recommendation: schedule the inspection within a week of the storm.
For approved claims, your only out-of-pocket is the deductible. The free inspection, public adjuster filing and negotiation, and the work itself are all covered by the claim payout. We don't charge upfront for any of it.
